A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Master the challenge of the mountains.
Climb their peaks and spread the long forgotten music into the dark world.

NEVEREST is developed by 3 Students of Bauhaus University Weimar as a part of the Experimental Game Lab head by Gianluca Pandolfo.

We are Georgii Sharadze, responsible for engineering and coding, Tarek Spiegelhalter as the visual designer, and doing all the Artwork, and Onur Ünal creating the Soundtrack and SFX.

Inspired by the nostalgia of our youth, our goal was to create a difficult platformer with the main idea to have constant moving as a necessity to reach the summits of the mountains, based on the groove of the beat.

Our very supportive and encouraging way to work led us to manage to finish the game within 3 months. NEVEREST is created at the peak of the corona, which is why we mostly connected through the internet during the process.

It is the first game we did together and are proudly presenting it on itch.io.

really enjoyed playing this. the need to frequently use the movement tools so that all of them stay available makes it really fun to speedrun, too. i made a speedrun.com page for anyone else that wants to speedrun this. my fastest time for all three stages so far is 12 minutes 11 seconds =)

Wow! We feel very honored you putting in the time and effort :D

This literally made my day and I had to try it myself... Could not beat ya yet but be aware! :)
I submitted a run but still has to process... (I've got 12:41)

Greetings Tarek

Nice game! I had a lot of fun playing it. This is the first mountain i climbed. The other two parts will be uploaded soon. Thanks :)

This is soo nice to hear!  Also fun to watch you playing it and getting to know the abilities step by step until pulling of the smooth moves in the last level :)

just a question out of curiosity... would you have liked to get more explanations while playing or was figuring out the stuff part of the fun?

This game was pretty fun to play, and I really liked the uniqueness of the game alongside the very cool abilities!! With that said this game was SO rage inducing xD Again, it was really fun to play and definitely deserves a playthrough. Devs, if you guys have any updates, I'd really love to check it out! Here's a link if you guys want to check out my complete gameplay!

Thank you very much for this feedback! You‘re video is really entertaining! excuse the late answer :) I am amazed how well you got everything from the getgo (okay we should have made it more clear I guess with the abilities... you loose energy if you dont move and use ur abilities. the blue circle on the ground shows which abilities are available) but yeah you figured it out :)

thanks for pushing our project! means a lot to us
